SafeBitess is operated by Voog LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is collected, used, and shared.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the SafeBitess mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

To create and use a SafeBitess account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Name or username
  • Apple Sign-In identifier
  • Google account identifier

Account creation is required to access SafeBitess features.

User-Generated Content

Users may submit the following content:

  • Star-based restaurant ratings
  • Written reviews
  • Allergy Safety Ratings (rated out of 5)
  • Allergy severity context

This information is publicly visible to other users.

Your username is visible publicly.

Your email address remains private and is never displayed publicly.

Location Information

SafeBitess collects precise location (GPS) data only when you actively search for nearby restaurants or use location-based features.

  • Location access is requested through the system permission prompt
  • Location data is used solely to show nearby restaurants and enable navigation
  • Location data is not collected in the background

If you decline location permissions, you may still use the App, but location-based features will be unavailable.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information solely to:

  • Provide and operate core App functionality
  • Display allergy-relevant restaurant information
  • Enable user reviews, ratings, and favorites
  • Improve app stability and performance
  • Respond to customer support and privacy requests

SafeBitess does not use personal data for behavioral profiling or personalized advertising.

3. Analytics & App Performance

SafeBitess uses third-party analytics services to understand app usage and improve reliability:

  • Apple App Analytics
  • Firebase

These services collect limited usage, device, and diagnostic data, such as app interactions, performance metrics, and crash reports.

Analytics data is used only for:

  • Measuring feature usage
  • Improving performance and stability
  • Identifying bugs and errors

4. Advertising & Attribution

SafeBitess uses advertising and attribution services for installation measurement and campaign performance only, including:

  • Apple Search Ads
  • Meta (Facebook)
  • Google Ads
  • TikTok

These services are used only to understand which campaigns lead to installs.

SafeBitess:

  • Does not track users across other apps or websites
  • Does not serve personalized or behavior-based ads
  • Does not request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission

No cross-app tracking occurs.

5. Payments & Subscriptions

All payments and subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple In-App Purchases.

SafeBitess does not collect, store, or process payment or credit card information. All billing data is handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's privacy and security policies.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell user data.

We share limited data only with trusted service providers that support core App functionality, such as:

  • Analytics providers
  • Hosting and infrastructure partners

All third-party providers are contractually required to protect user information and provide data protection standards consistent with this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

You may delete your SafeBitess account at any time:

  • Directly within the App settings, or
  • By emailing support@safebites.app

Upon account deletion:

  • Personal account information is permanently deleted within a reasonable timeframe
  • Some information may be retained temporarily where required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes

8. Children's Privacy

SafeBitess is not directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If we discover that personal data from a child has been collected without appropriate consent, we will promptly delete such data.

9. Sensitive Information & Allergy-Related Data

SafeBitess allows users to share allergy-related experiences and safety ratings. This information is:

  • User-submitted
  • Informational only
  • Not reviewed or verified by medical professionals

SafeBitess does not collect medical records or provide medical advice.

10. Important Disclaimers

  • All restaurant information is user-generated and may be inaccurate or incomplete
  • SafeBitess does not guarantee allergen-free dining
  • SafeBitess does not provide medical advice
  • Users should always confirm allergen information directly with restaurant staff

Restaurants are solely responsible for their food preparation practices and allergen disclosures.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by revising the "Last Updated" date above.

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
